Understand Your Bible | Bible Verses, Inductive Bible Study, Biblical Encouragement, Bible Study Method, Scripture Study Tools
Are you ready to make Bible study a priority? Would you love to be more familiar with the stories and passages in scripture? Do you long to connect with God and strengthen your faith?
Friend, you are in the right place. This podcast will help you understand your Bible, apply verses to your life, and become more confident with the who, where, and why in scripture
Hi, I’m Angie. I’m a pastor and Bible teacher. For years, even though I knew God loved me, I still dealt with defeating doubts about my value and purpose. It wasn’t until I began deeply studying the Bible that I experienced a heart transformation that allowed me to recognize the lies of the enemy that kept me stuck in shame and defeat. Studying scripture allowed me to stand firm on God’s promises that offer peace, joy, hope, and rest. I created a Step By Step Bible study method that teaches you to find life application in one word of scripture, and I will share it with you in these episodes.
If you crave a deep dive into scripture…
Bible study tools you can trust…
And a method designed to equip you to study with confidence…
Then, pull up a seat at our table, open your heart, and prepare to hear God speak directly to you.

340 | When Love Looks Like Discipline
Have you ever wondered if God’s correction meant He was disappointed in you?
It’s so easy to confuse His discipline with His disapproval. But Psalm 23:4b shows us that even discipline can be a form of God’s comfort and care.
Here’s what you’ll hear in this week’s episode:
- What the Hebrew word nacham reveals about God’s comfort, meeting us in both our deepest emotions and our turning points of change
- How translations like The Passion Translation and The Message highlight that God’s comfort is about strength, courage, and security, not passivity
- What shepherds used rods and staffs for, and why those tools are a picture of both protection and correction
- Insights from commentaries, including Tony Evans’ reminder that God holds power in one hand and grace in the other
- Angie’s personal story of hearing God’s correction through someone else’s testimony and how His “tap-tap” discipline became an invitation back to closeness
- The lie we’re tempted to believe: “Why is He picking on you? You’re fine.” and the truth from Proverbs 3:11–12 that God disciplines those He loves
