Understand Your Bible | Bible Verses, Inductive Bible Study, Biblical Encouragement, Bible Study Method, Scripture Study Tools
Are you ready to make Bible study a priority? Would you love to be more familiar with the stories and passages in scripture? Do you long to connect with God and strengthen your faith?
Friend, you are in the right place. This podcast will help you understand your Bible, apply verses to your life, and become more confident with the who, where, and why in scripture
Hi, I’m Angie. I’m a pastor and Bible teacher. For years, even though I knew God loved me, I still dealt with defeating doubts about my value and purpose. It wasn’t until I began deeply studying the Bible that I experienced a heart transformation that allowed me to recognize the lies of the enemy that kept me stuck in shame and defeat. Studying scripture allowed me to stand firm on God’s promises that offer peace, joy, hope, and rest. I created a Step By Step Bible study method that teaches you to find life application in one word of scripture, and I will share it with you in these episodes.
If you crave a deep dive into scripture…
Bible study tools you can trust…
And a method designed to equip you to study with confidence…
Then, pull up a seat at our table, open your heart, and prepare to hear God speak directly to you.

345 | When Church Hurts: Finding Truth After Spiritual Wounds
There’s no hurt like church hurt.
As we move through this Christmas season, Angie pauses to address a reality many of us know too well: spiritual wounds that leave us questioning whether community, worship, and trust in spiritual leaders are worth the risk again.
With compassion and honesty, Angie shares part of her own story, reflects on John 10:14, and walks through five common struggles believers face after church hurt. Through Scripture, she reminds us that while human shepherds may fail, the Good Shepherd never does.
Whether you’re actively engaged in a church community or still finding your way back, this episode will meet you with gentleness and invite you to take a small, Spirit-led step toward healing.
What You’ll Hear in This Episode
- Angie’s personal story of disappointment with a spiritual leader and what the Holy Spirit taught her about truth and discernment
- The comfort of John 10:14 and how Jesus, the Good Shepherd, contrasts with failed earthly shepherds
- Five common struggles that follow church hurt and the Scriptures that speak healing into each one
- Encouragement for those who feel spiritually weary, disconnected from worship, or hesitant to re-enter community
- A gentle invitation to take a small step toward re-engagement this Christmas
